John Lawrie Decom is pleased to announce an enhanced decommissioning service, in addition to their existing offering, which it has been providing to the oil & gas sector for more than two decades. Working in collaboration with Aberdeen Harbour Board, the company has acquired access to a decommissioning-dedicated quayside area equipped with full containment facilities for the receipt of piece small-to-medium structures for dismantling.

The new quayside facility will enable larger pieces of equipment and structures to be offloaded from vessels and then worked on in an environmentally secure work area within the main hub of North Sea activity.

John Lawrie Group environmental director, Ray Grant, said: “Our activity in this market continues to grow as more assets are being decommissioned and our enhanced service offering to receive larger items into Aberdeen will see further developments as we showcase and demonstrate our expertise to the market place. This new facility will provide operators with a real advantageous opportunity right on their doorstep which they can build into their decommissioning plans and strategies for future projects”.

“We will, of course, continue to offer our decommissioning services at other ports throughout the UK to suit specific client requirements”.

John Lawrie’s emphasis is on the reuse and recycling of materials wherever possible and the company demonstrates an established track record in this field built up over many years.
