A time-lapse video has been released which shows the entire process of decommissioning a heavy offshore module.

The video, which was recorded at the Port of Dundee in June 2015, shows sections of a 500-tonne North Sea offshore module being cut before being taken to John Lawrie’s licensed treatment facility in Aberdeen where it has been fully processed and recycled.

Filmed over seven days, the video shows the whole decommissioning process in just 3.5 minutes.

The module was decommissioned under the direct management of John Lawrie Group, utilising the expertise of its highly-skilled workforce.

John Lawrie Group provided full HSEQ documentation for the project, including initial method statement and risk assessments, which was approved by the client and the Port Authority prior to the commencement of work.

On behalf of everyone involved in the decommissioning project, John Lawrie Group would like to thank the Port of Dundee for its help and support during both the planning and execution of the project.
