After a very sucessful summer spent in Aberdeen's Duthie Park, the voyage is finally over for John Lawrie Group's 'Big Hero 20' anchor which has arrived at its final destination in the company's headquarters.

The '20for20' anchor voyage celebrated the work of north east cancer support charity, Friends of ANCHOR, over the past two decades. The charity chose to mark the occasion by embracing local talent and capturing the imagination of the general public. 20 large anchors representing 20 years of support to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary offered artists and schools the opportunity to create a unique design to recognise this special year.

The John Lawrie Group was delighted to choose and sponsor an anchor which had been designed by local primary school children. With a prominent spot in Aberdeen's Duthie Park, the brightly coloured sculpture was much admired by members of the public  from 1st July until the end of October 2017.  At the end of the fundraising campaign, all 20 anchors went to auction to bolster funds for the campaign. It was with great delight that John Lawrie Group was able to purchase 'Big Hero 20' and display it in the company offices for many years to come.
