  • DECOMMISSIONING OF A 500 TONNE OFFSHORE MODULE FOR TRANSOCEAN AT THE PORT OF DUNDEE.

John Lawrie was contracted by Transocean to carry out the decommissioning of a large offshore module weighing in at approx 500 tonnes, which was decommissioned at the Port of Dundee under the direct management of John Lawrie utilising the expertise of its highly-skilled workforce.

Full HSEQ documentation for the project, including a site-specific Method Statement and Risk Assessments, was prepared by John Lawrie’s HSEQ team and approved by the client and the Port Authority prior to the work commencing.

The module was cut into transportable sections at the quayside before being transported to John Lawrie’s licensed treatment facility in Aberdeen for full processing and 100% recycling.

The whole operation took seven days to complete and a time-lapse video has been released which shows the entire cutting and dismantling process in just 3.5 minutes. Click here to see the video.
